Just in case anyone missed this, there was an extreme enduro held in Iowa last Sunday, part of the American Enduro Series and I believe the first event of the year.   There were some notable local trials riders entered.
Pat Doll, Mike McConaughy, Will Check riding trials bikes and Jamison Stachel and Pat Smage on enduro bikes.  There were approximately 110 riders and through a series of elimination races, the top 50 riders moved on to the final event.

Looks like Pat may have a new future ahead of him and as to no surprise to us, he was on fire and finished second to Quinn Wentzell (ex trial Pro).  Pat was only 9 seconds behind after approx of 3.5 of racing for the day.  A distant third was Nick Fahringer a season hard enduro competitor.   IMHO some of the harder sections resembled local Expert and Champ class obstacles.  It was insane what these guys were doing on big bikes.

And equally impressive was young Will Check, who showed all but three people what a trials bike could do.  Will finished 4th O/A on his Scorpa.  Unfortunately trials bikes were not eligible for the O/A and Will was denied the podium photo and payday.

And then there were the rest of us.   Grin     Thanks again to Jamison for helping me get over the tires.  I rode the second race well enough to qualify, but there was no way I was racing the last round because I was exhausted and final race course was more brutal.  Luckily I broke my bike, so I could use that as an excuse.
