I could help with set up on the Friday before the event, setting up Nov, Int, and Adv lines.

Please note that several people have volunteered already, several weeks ago. Their messages are listed under Events 2007 / Platteville.  I believe it was Dan, Bent, and Mike M.  Dan now has Lyme's disease, and Bent has a bent knee, not sure about Mike?

Yes, I'm spending the weekend of August 11-12 (weekend before the event) at Platteville setting it up.  Not sure if I'll camp right there, or if I'll stay somewhere else Saturday night.  I'm hoping a couple of others can join me for one or both days?

The anit-biotics I'm taking for the Lyme disease have worked wonders... within 12 hours of starting on them I was already feeling better.  I'm sure by August 11 I'll be able to spend the weekend working.

I helped Noel and others set it up last year, so have a good idea what to do.  I'm also ordering the trophies for Platteville (working with Noel).

Good to hear  .  I hope work goes well    and I cant help but feel a bit responsible for putting people on the hook for work I should be doing ,thanks ahead of time to those who get involved  ,big effort and expense these days to do the set up   .    As of now I cant committ  to when we may be getting there    ,if up to it  some chance I could travel in to P ville friday and finish  plating the  ex/ch lines  if some basic clearing and ribboning is done  remember even 6 1/2 good sections can make an event  no need fore 10 - 12   good luck   group,Noel

I will most likely be busy the Aug 11-12.  I could help set up on some weeknights before the event, or maybe on Friday.  I usually help with the Dickeyville event too and have not been in contact with Homer or Dan.

I will be there Friday, August 17, around 10 or 11 am, to finish setting up any sections that need to be finished, or make new sections, or mark out the loop, or whatever.  I will bring the weedeater and chainsaw.  Is it ok to just drive right in to the property on Friday?  Dan / Noel,  if you want anything specifially done on Friday, please leave me instructions or call me.

Also, I will be camping at Klondyke Secluded Acres, in Lancaster, 6656 Pine Knob Rd [(608) 723-2844], about 20 minutes away, Friday and Saturday nights.

I need ribbon/tape for next weekend.  Do I just buy my own and ask to be reimbursed?  That might be the easiest thing to do since I'm paying for the trophies myself and will have to be reimbursed for those.

I gave the extra ribbon and stuff to Jim A. for Baraboo.
Contact him if you need the items.

OK, I've heard from Jim that I should just go ahead and buy my own surveyor's/flagging tape.  It seems like blue and red are the preferred colors for people to use, but I've gone to two hardware stores now, and even checked online at a couple of places, and while I can find red tape, blue is either not available or several days back-ordered.  I need it by Friday, so I'm assuming I can just use whatever colors are available?  The day-glow colors seem real popular - everyone has day-glow yellow, orange, pink, etc.  in stock.

Dan,

I picked up 5 rolls of blue, and one of red (300' each) at National Ace in downtown Milwaukee.

I will get these to you tomorrow (Thursday) at lunch, downtown.

I have 2 1/2 rolls of blue, and 2 1/2 rolls of red that I will bring with me on Friday the 17th, to finish up whatever sections need to be done.

If you have leftover ribbon this Sunday, and there is still a lot left to mark in the sections, then maybe you could "stash" the extra ribbon somewhere there (so the cows don't get it), for me to use next Friday?

Thanks Dave!  After you and I talked I wasn't sure you'd find any blue tape so I made other plans with Jorge.  I'll still take with me what you bought and then I'll stash whatever leftover I have there at the site.  It's better to have too much than not enough.   Smiley

To All:

If anyone is able to assist in roughing in the Champ/Exp sections at Platteville on Friday afternoon, that would be much appreciated.  It turns out that Noel can't make it to Platteville until Sunday morning.  I will be at Platteville around 10 or 11 am Friday.  I plan to add some advanced sections and finish up the novice and intermediate sections.  I don't have much experience in setting up champ/exp sections and could use your help. Also, Dan will not be there this weekend as he will be out of town on a well deserved vacation.  He and Mark Doll set up most the nov/int/adv sections last weekend.

Thanks,

Dave Schigoda

Dave, looking at the map I gave you today, "the creek", "the falls" and "big rock" all contain lines for all 5 classes.  But "the falls" is the least complete out of all the sections -- it has a start marked, and boundaries roughed in, but it needs the rest of the line markings put up.

Adv also shares 5 of the 8 sections with the Nov/Int, so it needs about another 3 sections, and Ch/Ex need about another 5 sections.
