with possible riders= Brad v  Jesse W  and Dave R  Nate H Luke L  Lukas G Gregg S Rick C  Ryan R ?; not sure what Ben W would ride,  he  was  probably under Challenged on my Expert course.I may ride but am not  close to on form to be in the podium mix.   it could be quite a close run for  1st place this weekend  ,I'm excited to see how this plays out  .  And there  is still time for  any or all of them to submit bribe money to request their strongest type of section preference  .

Wonderful heavy rains are falling at  Carpenter road, should be soaked in for   a perfect situation by the weekend,  way cooler means comfort and  less bug activity  ,all things point to  a full blown awesome couple of days!!!!! Kevin and I will be laying out second half of the course Wednesday and Thursday, people who come Friday  can maybe rake some, play some , help maybe burn in a nother loop trail  to avoid  2 way traffic./

well  big shootout between two long time successful national riders didn't come to pass. That left the bottom 4 Saturday finishers stuck dealing with sections designed even harder than 1st day . We did change 2 plates to bring down the big bike toss factor some.  Great weekend overall -pretty nice number of riders  , weather -perfect,  fun for most  ,thanks for taking part.

Noel, I had a great time, thanks for all your time and work on the event!

If was probably not the best place for me to try moving up a class, a couple things were a bit intimidating for me on Sunday.....but I am already looking forward to next year and I hope by then I can gain some confidence and be ready for your BOLD sections.

Thanks for the props, yeah the Rock isn't great place to move up, but like you said  you mixed in a few Blue routes on occasion.  Im from an extreme ski snowboard back ground so am probably more comfortable on crazy exposed side hills and huge verts.  My only apologies were not having unique awards like I usually have made/settling for  very fragile marking tape/ using just one staple in cards that are close to key traffic spots/ no bike launch/ and an obvious repetitive nature to my layout=most sections were simply up a hill down a hill up a hill down a hill and out. Some times you would go up   and run side hills -thing is my chunks/slabs/walls/steps/and double steps are mostly on  a good slope.

The Rock  had to be one of the best events I had witnessed, Very cool long sections that made most of the guys need a GPS to follow. Noel, Thanks so much for your total dedication to the sport, your property is certainly national worthy.
What an absolutely perfect weekend weather/riding/Bon Fires/Ice Cream/Fireball/ and friends weekend that was........
I am sure your Father in law looked down with a huge Bold smile and would have been very proud of what you did......

I also thought it was a successful weekend.  The bonfire gathering Saturday night was fun.  I'm happy with the section setup.  They were a little hard, but the length and variety was good.  We are open to award/trophy suggestions, within our cost constraints.  What we used this year did not challenge our budget like some of what was used last year did.  I did not hear of any problems with the marking tape.  It is the same as has been used by WOTA since I have been a member.  Our arrows are great, they don't fold or fall apart when it rains, like the paper ones everyone else uses do.  I guess the key to not breaking tape or knocking off arrows is to not run over/into them, which is one of the goals of trials.

I am only dissing the way sections are marked because they are not the same as  a national or world round, using 3 inch pvc tape is far superior but  unless a sponsor helps with cost it is too expensive, and  having cards in wickets are more secure ,but true  you are not supposed to hit them ,without risk of  a 5  . WTC now does not allow contact with any marking, NATC  still does  and often cards are ran right over. I will be using 2 staples where  a rider may be close to brushing  a marker, it is  very hard to give  a 5  when rider did ride the intended line  but the card happened to fall off. Again I am just trying to offer  a trial that is much closer to  a National round  than just another local event. I would really like to see  a regional series with a well done 2 day round in WI ,IL and,MN . they could also be shared points for the normal series each stste has.

Well I am not patient so I just subscribe to Dave Johnson's you tube page so I can watch them as they are posted!

I for one REALLY appreciate the time that Dave and Keith put into getting videos of our events. When they are done riding to go find the other classes to get additional footage of every class, plus I would imagine editing takes a good deal of time.

A person can learn a lot from watching what they do correct and incorrect as well as watching other riders techniques.

The Champ class video is a good one.....
