Re: Could Mauston get rained out?
Yes the event went fantastic ,just a few sprinkles during Sunday and the Sat night showers didnt hurt a thing. To those who were scared away by the forecast or need to work on an event 150 +days away ,you may just be an i***t Thanks to the 26 riders that did show . There was no one complaining scores were 20 to 40 for 80% of entrants 3 loops of 7 or 8 sections overall quite a day .Lessons learned --- moving an event to not conflict with UMTA is a waste of effort ,some regions are just too tight knit to move out of their OBY of course $4 gas doesnt help our cause crappy gas $s stink

Re: Could Mauston get rained out?
Noel, I'm still glad you moved the date. We did have some NITRO riders show up that will be at Elmwood next week and wouldn't have come. Also, I have to work nights next weekend, so you would have ended up setting up all by yourself. I also was glad the rain held off. Everyone was gone except Shari and I, cooked our steak and were sitting down to eat when the big storm hit about 7:15 pm. A lot of rain and very windy. Was raining in windows on all sides of the camper. Looked like a muddy mess when it stopped. Was still a little muddy when I woke up, took our time, had a good breakfast, and it drained/dried out enough that we had no problem pulling out at about 10:30 this morning. Could hardly see our tracks. (filled up with $4.10 a gallon diesel on the way home, ouch)

Re: Could Mauston get rained out?
You bet ,I am very grateful you were able to be of incredable amount of help it would have been very tough to get 6 decent sections done alone ,you made a world of difference . Also we may have missed thanking theFrenches for a good hour or 2 oif leaf raking on 1,2,3 . I am just having trouble coming to terms with the lack of EXPert and Champ riders like the good old days life is always changing. Maybe we dont need to set lines for anything above Advanced ,just see who shows up and go walk around setting pebbles on the ground like Bill Ibsen does for Will.

I also think we all need to thank Noel for his work and allowing all us "kids" to come and play on his land. I enjoyed my time there and can't wait to go back.

I too had a great time...the 2.5 hr. drive was definitely worth it...even for just one day...working on my work schedule for the 2-day......Noel....it is hard setting up sections for the upper classes, when they dont show to ride...I totally understand

Re: Could Mauston get rained out?
Great event. I had a blast.
Thanks to Kevin, Noel, Mike, and Mason for setting up sections. Thanks to Ken for bringing out the porta potty. Thanks for Jim V. for getting things organized - I'm sure there was plenty of work behind the scenes that none of us know about. And thanks to Doreen for running sign up.
There may be others that pitched in as well that I don't know about - thank you too.
