I know BMX  does double and even triple points weekends  BUT  I know of NO  WTC or NATC events  ever doing this   I feel  there  should NOT be  an event singled out  that does give 2x points,  any  one disagree strongly?

I agree with Noel.  I don't like the double points, especially for a 2 day event.

I think double points is purely a Promotional thing done by Districts as a bone to throw to individual clubs to encourage a good rider turnout......All of DIST 16 events are put on by 1-club  "WOTA" ...So its not really needed....or not even helpful

I was wondering about the double points thing myself? I was asked by someone about it and I was not sure being so new to this pres.. stuff. I thought that someone told me that we gave double points out for the Wauzeka Event to start off the year and to get more riders there too. I am not sure about if that is true or not but wanted to find out more on that. anyone know more than me about that ? AS for double points,,,, I am not sure why it would be needed unless you were trying to get people to a place that is not having a good turn out or a new place to get more people to come and check it out. My personal view is it is not really needed ! people do what they want even if you try to bribe them. LOL!

Yup, Jim's right. The double points thing was to increase rider turnout at Wauzeka, plain and simple.
That event historically brought in 15 to 20 riders without the double points thing. That did not cover expenses for the club.
Looks like it has worked though.
Bring it up at the meeting and vote on it, the club members make the rules you know.  Grin
