lawn chairs-fires-fireworks-bean bags-beer
This new topic catagory if for your favorite story from a trials weekend. These stories should include one of the aformentioned items located in the subject bar.
One of my favorite storries is the time Jim and I were lighting firworks at Wauzeka. No, we did not burn down the forest as it was raining all day. We were all sitting around a great fire enjoying the bright stars and the fireworks that I had bought on my last trip to ttc. (That place rocks) Many beers and bottle rockets latter Jim suggested I mount one of those big sparkly shooting things in my beer holder and light it. I was taken aback by this suggestion becuase Jim does not have a great fondness for fireworks. Well, since the beer always seemed to be in my hand I figured (or didn't) to try it. After lighting it I realized that I should have not been sitting in the chair and quickly ejected myself from the heating situation. Unfortunately the nylon chair was not fireproof and started to burn wildly as the sparks reached there zenith. With everyone in close proximity I thought it best to stomp out the fire but ended up braking my lawn chair that was now burnt and broken. The good thing is that it was well worth a few laughs and I did not burn my shoe and big toe like at Dickeyville in '03.... But that story is for another day.

Re: lawn chairs-fires-fireworks-bean bags-beer
It happened in a section long, long ago.
The site is a registered historic landmark of the
Baraboo Hills Fall Classic.
It is the legend of
"The Smage Flameout"
As I was not there, I must look to the skies, and call to the great poobah.
(noel or dave)
Grant my wish to hear it again!

The Smage Flame0ut............
Documents should be placed in a time capsule and buried in the Baraboo hills. It would be criminal to deny future generations access to history such as this. A scene that belongs in "Wild Hogs".

I was able to witness the end of this story. At Silvermound, Hixton in the days when
every event was guaranteed rain. Not sure how the story began, and I only suspect beer was involved.
After a Saturday night of torrential rains, while leaving the campground for a Sunday breakfast,
I couldn't help but notice a member of "Team Dump Truck" Russ Sellers in the driveway entrance,
snug in his sleeping bag in a puddle of water.

Re: lawn chairs-fires-fireworks-bean bags-beer
As I am sitting here, awaiting to be enlightened on the tale of
"The Smage Flameout"
,
I've have recalled another Wauzeka memorable moment. It was about 5 years ago on
a perfect Saturday night, where about 25 riders and friends have gathered to enjoy yet another
grand fireworks display. Everyone was sitting in their lawn chairs or blankets next to "County Road N"
where the rockets and ground displays were going off. The middle of the blacktop made for a perfect launch pad.
About halfway through the evenings entertainment, and it was time for
the
monster
firecracker brick.
About 2 minutes in of the non-stop exploding firecrackers, it was most unfortunate to see
headlights approaching in the distance. But now this display will have to run its course for
about 5 more minutes, car or not. You can't just turn it off.
The car begins to slow... with its headlights beaming right into the explosions and everyones eyes.
The car gets closer and closer, and finally stops just short of the display.
hmmmm.... what are the odds. Yep, it was the county sheriff, come to enjoy the show with us.

Re: lawn chairs-fires-fireworks-bean bags-beer
not sure what you are aksing 4 but the general
situation was like this I recall many x s where champ was just roachy and me dont remember who else may have been around maybe Ralph or BR ? I was riding my ugly but durable 85 TY 350 up the big long slab out there when at the top lost gtrip and came back down I guess w/ an upside down bike sliding whereas somehow the peg sparked some AV gas leaking out the vent and next thing we are blowing and throwing dirt on a flaming gas tank that forever sported a sooty wrinkled decal look but was able to conti nue the event after a lowering of heart rate. thats all I have to say about that fg

Re: lawn chairs-fires-fireworks-bean bags-beer
With just over 2 weeks to go before Baraboo gets underway,
I thought it appropriate to bring out my personal favorite.
Fire.. lots of fire. Fireworks, yep. Lawn chairs-beer-bean bags-even hay bales. Could not have been any better. It was "The Jump"
Enjoy the pics here!
