Hey y'all...

Not sure if ya'll heard but Eastlic's sold their farm.. and the new owners won't allow us to ride on their land.. So that means no more Platteville.. Just found out last night.. Thought I'd let you know.. Talk to you all later! Bye!

What are the chances of having two days at Dickeyville instead?

Better talk to Homer, but you're going to have to send the message by Pony Express or telegraph.  No computer at his house.

No but you could try information.  Homer has a Cuba City address and Dan lives in Platteville.

How  about 1  day at D ville  and  1 day  at Dubuque   I am the saddest  to hear Platteville go as I  and my cuz and kids and neighbors  pretty much Pioneered  the lot of riding in that hallowed ravine  many areas  my tires hit virgin earth and now it sounds like a fine memory   Time to appreciate what little land is left to use  .

Wow, too bad about Platteville.  I'll update the event schedule and map as soon as I get a definitive word as to whether or not we'll be able to replace Platteville with something else.

I second the idea of having something in Dubuque to replace Platteville.   Mike, I'm not sure if you think your neighbors will be OK with this, but it's just a trials event... not some all out race like a Hare Scrambles or something.  Smiley

No trials in Dubuque.  We are building this year and I don't want to deal with trying to host a trials.  Plus for those of you who have not been here, it's in the middle of town and I have real concern over noise issues.    So far, I haven't had anyone complain, but I have not had a lot of riders over at one time and have not been riding consistently on the land.

I want to give it time to get built and settled in living there.  Plus I want to ride more consistently and feel out the situation.  What I don't want, is too rush into having 50 bikes there and have the city trying to shut me down, so I can't even ride my own bikes, or have a few friends over.  If this land was out in the middle of nowhere, we would have had a trials here already, but it's not.  I have residential neighbors who live within 300 feet of the riding areas and they have been accustommed to a park like setting, not two strokes.

Maybe next year, we'll see, but we may never have a trials here, it just depends on what develops.

Understood Mike, and I concur... don't do anything to jeopardize what you have going there.

So, should I remove the August 17 event from the calendar?  Or just change the location to (Cancelled) or (TBD) for now?

TBD for now, I intend to get in touch with Homer to see if we can double up at Dickeyville that weekend.
Dave S. has told me that he would help with the Dickeyville set up.
