I need two volunteers to help set up the Hixton Trials. I'm thinking tentatively for the last week of July or the first week of August. We will be carpooling to keep costs down during the set up weekends. (1 or 2 weekends prior to the event)
Please respond by the end of this week, as Jim and I are setting up the '08 schedules this weekend.

No volunteers = no trials.

It's awfully far out to commit to it at this time, but I think I'll be available the first weekend in August.  If I'm able to help, I will.

Oops, scratch that.   Shocked

I just saw the tentative 2008 schedule has Hixton as June 1.  Which means setup in May.  I should be able to make one trip up to Hixton in May.

Dan,
We have a conflict with Minnesota for the June date. I am waiting for them to let me know about the Aug 3rd date now. I don't want to have a conflict with them.

I've been asked by Kip Webb to see if we could use one of our WOTA events, along with a Minnesota event and a Illinois event to do a three round Mid-west regional series.

As for work, all clubs put on events and this would only require extra paperwork. The draw is more out of area riders competing for the series win. We'd like to make the extra money raised go to the TDN team.

Do we have WOTA event the group would consider?  Hixton is one possible choice. Baraboo the other. I would work the sponsorship/promotion angle with Shan at Trials Comp and the key manufacturers, and all other regional details if WOTA would be interested in joining a regional series format to crown a regional champion.

Of course we are interested. Either of those venues will work, but as of now, Hixton is still up in the air.

Wouldn't this only work if all three clubs adopted the USMTA rules?  I know we did, but does anyone know what NITRO and UMTA are going to do?

I know that NITRO has aleady gone with the the new class designation...We set up the line for each class according to the deffiniton of what that classes abilitys are...In 07 we did not go with the letter designation though...reason was because none of the other clubs in the area had done that yet....This year we are going to call each class by its letter name.....E is novice class ect.

The classes would be pro, expert, advanced, intermediate and novice. If someone feels we need to add a youth class, fine. Or A, B, C, D, E.

These three events, the cost of entry is increased 5 or 10 bucks. All this money goes directly to the tdn team fund.

Kip (new TdN team manager) says the NATC is on board with and behind the plan.

As we all know, we've got a vested interest in the tdn team. One of our members is on it.

If the regional is still open, I would suggest D'ville and P'ville
Probably our 2 best areas with some great waterfalls, monster hills,
and there doesn't seem to be any schedule conflicts with either D23 or D17.
Although they do conflict with the UTE in Colorado. Is Colorado considered the mid-west regional area?

Wauzeka is great too, but not sure if D17 has something going on then.

And any extra attendance at any of these locations is needed.

Hixton Trials is cancelled, due to scheduling conflicts and the fact that I can't put on the Hixton Trials this year.
Sorry.
