Mother Nature and Byron?
I'm having trouble picturing Mother Nature
and the Byron Trials in 15 days?
But I am looking forward to it, just the same... now where did I put my gear...?

Re: Mother Nature and Byron?
Id offer smagical rock for them to use ,but i doubt the parking lot will have the frost out ,it could still be quite a mess in April. I know one decent rain will get the snow off the south side of bluff to be able to ride ,but it could be a while for the field to be firm.

Re: Mother Nature and Byron?
Byron Illinois is a go! Was there Saturday helping and looks like fun. Here is what NITRO has on their Facebook page.
Byron Pre Race
Riders: get there early (8:00) if you were lazy and didn't renew your AMA or District 17 cards or if this is your first event. Don't forget another $10 for your NITRO membership. First timers please feel free to ask for advice or help. Trials is a friendly sport.
Spectators: absolutely no spectators on ATV's or bikes. This isn't are normal policy but the conditions aren't normal either. Easy access to about half of the sections and maybe 200 yards to the furthest section from the road.
Conditions: snow in the sections and loop. About 3 to 4??? inches on about 50% of the course. Typical spring slick mud on the permafrost. Sections are on the easy end of the scale but we have a few lump in the throat obstacles.
Camping: the road after the gate is extremely wet and we are trying to keep traffic from destroying Aaron's back yard. Remember that is his home at the track. Use the turnaround and park on the right side of the road. We will be riding the loop and placing arrows on Saturday so we can help find a spot. Let me know if you are planning to camp.
Parking: when you enter the road to the park drive to the gate and sign the waver. Use the turn around and park on the right side of the street. Where we enter and exit the woods will be marked off so keep those areas clear.
Hope to see you there

Re: Mother Nature and Byron?
Kevin,
Is "the turnaround" near the entrance to the site? Or is it to the left and up the hill where the Pits are normally?
Can a sedan with street tires (pulling a small trailer) get in and out of the site without getting stuck?

Re: Mother Nature and Byron?
Turnaround is just inside the gate before you get to the MX track. We will be staying on cleared area of the road to turn around, should be no problem for your car.
