Just curious if anyone has replaced the front tube with the Tubliss system.  Check out http://www.nuetech.com/.

With the number of flat fronts experienced at the Platteville event this year, it seems this may be worth the $100.

Added bonus of being lighter than a tube.

Any thoughts?

  I had seen these on the "net" , but didn't give them to much thought due to the price,and no local feed back......But I was one of the 6 total flats that happened that day....Mine was a rear and it was my first "pinch" flat.....totally cut through the side wall in 2 places....I had to put an internal patch on one side and didnt trust that so I also put in a tube on my fairly new X-lite michlen.....YES I was running TO low of a pressure so the system you are looking at probably wouldn't have helped...the site you linked also states that it is for standard tube type rims.....not sure how it would work on the tubeless rear rim I have?Huh?

Hey Ralph!

The tubliss would definitely not have helped in your case.  I was under the impression that the majority of the flats were in the front tires due to pinched tubes. 

I may order one and give it a try next time I have my front tire off the rim.  I don't think I'd mess with one in the rear since they are already tube less.

Hey all,
I have the Tubliss system on the rear of my bike. The system allows you to convert a wheel that has a tube and a rim lock to a tubeless set up.  The Tubliss system dose not prevent flats. If you run over something sharp you will get a flat the only difference is whether you replace a tube or a tire. It will prevent you from getting a tube “pinch flat” but that is about it. The Tubliss system also acts as a 360 deg. rim lock to keep the tire from spinning on the rim. If you want to put the Tubliss system on a rim that is already tubeless you would have to drill another hole in the rim ( about 4 spokes away from the valve stem hole) for there rim lock. I decided to put the system on my bike after I got a flat (tube) tire on my bike before I ever got to take it off road. I have no complaints with the Tubliss system so far and used it through the 2010 season. I hope this helped.

Wow Andy, that answers all of my questions...in fact it most likely would have prevented my pinch flat!!!! I am having trouble with air leaking out of spoke nipples due to the rim tape not seating on my tubeless rim ,and because of that I was running slime....and because of the slime it was hard to " set 4lb of press." so I know my Press. was to low...Ralph
