1st prestigious  WOTA round coming soon to  a town not so near you  !!!  Im heading there today  get  an idea how much snow left us  on the one day of spring we had the day of the bomb cyclone-  also look for tree destruction from 60 mph winds.  Will report.  BUT  1st setup will likely be  march 30/31  or  for sure by April 6/7  . NEW and exciting this year  - some sections may be designed by a   National Pro  champion  .   Anyone  wanting to get  involved please post here  or call me at the end of the month.  Cheers

AFTER  A WALK OF MOST OF THE PROPERTY  HAPPY TO REPORT THERE  ARE LIKE  NO TREES  DOWN IN PLACES THAT RUIN TYPICAL SECTION SPOTS.  I DID  SEE  A NEW  HIGH LEVEL  ROUTE TO TOP THAT ALMOST HAS TO BE CLEARED AND ATTEMPTED  .   MAN ITS STILL TOO COLD EVERY NIGHT.  THE SOUTH SIDE STILL HAS  A 50% COVER OF A FEW INCHES OF HARD SNOW  -NEED A WARM RAIN SOON.

OK  back from a week vacay    noe planning when to go to the rock  to start stringing ribbon  . Last year I actually walked most of the ribbon on the hills with snow on the ground(actually better than froze  or thawing ground)  but  I thought what with global warming we will never  have to do that again  WELL  WRONG  here we are  gonna be pounding stakes into frozen ground  unless the rain later in the week is warm..  anyway Ill post if im going up Friday and Saturday of this week    Checking forecast it looks pretty crappy for riding  or anything  sat night  18 degrees after RAIN AND SNOW FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY  MAY  BE  THE 5-7TH THAT MOST WORK IS DONE    -ONLY NEED 8 SECTIONS  FOR  A 1 DAY  IS  THE GOOD NEWS

I was in Mauston Friday April 5th, happy to say it's PERFECT. No snow, no ice, parking lot is dry and firm.  And Noel is a beast riding up those rocks.

Not sure what he  means  we didn't  ride much   anyway  yeah its  real nice---NOW   weekend looks OK  but now there  is  a mixed wet bag of garbage for midweek   forecast  Oh well  we will figure it  out  I have  a nice log chain for pulling out 2 w d  trucks  or?   going to need riders to come Saturday and ride sections backwards  to snuff out  the wet snow that may fall    Also need to thank the following bodies who put in some setup time  over the weekend    _____//// Doug Hay   Ed  Pohleber/ Jamison S.   Kevin H   and  dave and Keith Johnson.

Well, I am at Mauston and not much snow melted today. Not a lot on the ground but is a challenge. We can not move event to next week because of Easter, so we plan on riding Sunday.  Will ride in groups and if some snow remains group decides which obstacles to use. I did ride all sections novice line with my vintage bike so you can find a path to get thru them. Tomorrow is suppose to be a little warmer than today so hope a lot melts.(they have lowered the rain chances Sunday to just over 20% in the afternoon, should be good.)

Looking good at Mauston. A few of us spent the day removing snow in sections and with the days melting they all look mostly rideable. The pits are snow free and solid so parking ok.
