Planning a Gate Trials for the Fun day ride.  Not sure if it will be before or after our Annual club meeting/Pizza lunch.  Here is what I'm thinking for how to run it:
3 classes,
1. those that rode Nov and Int,
2. those that rode Advance, and
3. those that rode Expert and Champ.
(if there is a big turnout can split the groups more)
Gate sections will be set up using black, green, blue, orange/black, and red arrows based on difficulty
You enter the section, take any path you want, but try to go thru as many of the gates as you can without crossing your line.
All classes can go thru any colored gate they want, you are not required to go thru any gates (i.e. Nov do not have to go thru all black gates, etc).
Black arrows worth 5 points
Green arrows worth 10 points
Blue arrows worth 15 points
Orange/black arrows worth 20 points
Red arrows worth 25 points.
There will be 5 points off for every dab, does not stop at 3, so 5 dabs would be minus 25 points.
If you have more dabs points than gate points you get zero for the section (you can not have a negative score)
Other than missing gates, all other trials failure rules apply, and you get no points for the section.
Number of loops and number of sections to be determined based on how set up goes.
High score wins.  Planning on prizes.

Need feedback and suggestions as to time. One suggestion, is to start gate trials @ 1000, pizza @ 1200 or 1300 along with meeting.

Chances are we will be doing corn harvest and will miss meeting but  a few topics of my concern. Starting with which events are when.  1 st event of season  can still be Mauston , wondering if  a 2 day is more cost effective and preferred  by riders. Thoughts have been it is too cold to camp that early but now most "campers" are in rv s  v.s. tents so maybe that isn't an issue.  So the 12/ 13 weekend is my 1st choice with the 19/20th  next  . I prefer the 1 st weekend of Sept. for fall rounds as October is busy  farming, this year it worked out fine being too wet to harvest but still would like to be earlier. Labor day isn't great as we have annual farm party in Elkhorn so  it depends if BRF  can push later past cranberry fest rather than before it   ,and when other NATC  or EX  races are.  We  could do the week before Labor day  depending when Dickeysville is.    A  possible Regional series seems like a no-brainer but hasn't ever gathered much steam.  Each of the big Midwestern clubs(Nitro Umta ,Wota) could host 2  2 day events in a season that makes a 12 round series for  a regional championship. We have  been doing conjoined rounds with some success, largely it is  a money and work crew savings for a club  but then the travel difference  becomes an issue,  . Not sure who would do the points keeping or awards.  Then there becomes the decision of which events get the potential benefit of  a bigger rider turnout, possibly rotate between different spots until a vote  or other reasons become clear.
