Dear Trials enthusiast,

I am sending this email to all the Trials clubs in America as a “call for support” of the upcoming USA Wagner Cup World Round of Trials to be held at the Trials Training Center in Sequatchie, Tennessee.  After talking with the organizer it seems that they are not getting the number of volunteers from the trials community that they have in the past and they are a little concerned.

Are you kidding me?  We are involved in a sport that has its challenges, but lack of volunteers for a prestigious World event held over a weekend should not be one of them!

Our sport although small has the most dedicated group of enthusiast in motorcycling.  We are dedicated because, if we want it done we have to do it. So in the past when one of our clubs decided to do a World Round it would take the whole trials community in the US to make it happen.  TTC and the STRA can accomplish a lot, but it will take all clubs doing their part for this event to be successful.  I encourage all clubs not to wait to volunteer any longer, let’s try and make this World Round one of the best and most successful.

In talking to some of the clubs I have heard that people are not volunteering to show their displeasure over the no-stop rule that will be in place at this world round.  This is not a effective way to show our displeasure, it is only effecting Trials in USA and creating a hardship for everyone involved in the organization of this event, which is other trials enthusiasts.

We have to come together as a community, and a country, to put on the best event we can.  We cannot change a rule with a protest, we will only succeed in hurting our sport in our own country.

Our sport is kept alive with the efforts of many volunteers, at the local level, the national level, and in this case at the world level.  I encourage everyone and all clubs to come together and support this sport we all seem to love.  Gary Hoover (hooverg@bellsouth.net), who we know from being a national competitor, a great rider and a trials enthusiast has volunteered to organize the observers and other volunteers for the world round.  Do we really need to make his volunteer job any harder by bringing politics into this?

At TTC there will be observer training that will make you comfortable with your job as an observer using the rules of the FIM.  As Americans we can rise to the top of any situation, figure it out, and move forward.  There will be an event held on memorial day weekend in Tennessee, it is our decision how easy or hard it is for the organizer to put it on.

So let’s do this, email Gary (hooverg@bellsouth.net) today and let him know you are willing to help your sport and do whatever it takes to have a successful event in the USA.  Talk to your club and let them know what their help means to the sport.

Please forward this message to other trials enthusiast so we can spread the word.
