Undecided  Possibility we receive permission to have an event at Silver Mound next year.  Would have to be around the end of July as per landowner...hunting reasons.  One day at BRF & one day at Silver Mound?Huh  For those of you unfamiliar with Silver Mound, it was a very popular Trials site and is about 3.5 miles East of Hixton on State Hwy 95.  Location of multiple events (joint UMTA/WOTA and   even had a number of joint Wis/Ill/Mn) from 1978 thru the early 2000's.  Held an AOTSCA National there in 1984 and a NATC National in 1986.  Ralph Littlefield rode there when he was young! Interested??

Yes!  I have been to a couple of Trials there, several years ago.  It's a great place to ride, and a great place to watch the Expert/Champ riders on the really big stuff that is there.  I've never seen anything like it since.  Shocked

Sad  The latest on Silvermound.....we have permission to ride, but logistics are becoming a problem.  We can't get on the hill until after hunting season which will likely mean snow covered.  Since I haven't been up there for several years, we are not quite sure what to expect as far as prep time for an event since parts of the hill were logged at the time I was last up there.  Our prime riding areas were not logged, but some of the areas and parts of the loop were.  Scheduling also becomes a problem as the 3rd weekend in July is pretty much our only option as we can't get on the mound to work until after 6/15...owner is avid hunter and don't want does and their young fawns disturbed before then...and must be out of there by 8/1.    Whether you agree with that or not is irrelevant as it is his land.  There may also be issues with a parking area.  For those of you that remember the KOA Kampground on the east side of the hill...it ain't what it used to be as current KOA owners are not particularly fond of dirt bikers.  That being said, to rearrange schedules for an event with some uncertainty is probably not prudent.  The plan...we will work out the bugs (and brush) next summer and shoot for a grand event in 2013.  My apologies for any inconvenience.

we had wheelie contests at Silvermound on more than one occasion.  Started down by Hwy 95 and a considerable distance to the woods behind the A-Frame office.  The most memorable was one of the Smage Bros vs the Knack.   Both wheelied all the way into the woods.  If my memory serves me correctly, the Knack won when he wheelied into the woods turned a came back out maintaining his wheelie the entire time.  Can't remember if Noel or Bill, but were on a Honda and Knack on a Montesa.  Rohrschneider was a member of Team Dump Truck.  Littlefields lived in Sheffield.   Cheesy

Silvermound was the first trials event that I ever rode (vintage event in 2000?? maybe).  Great place!
