To All Wisconsin Trials Riders:

You should have received your District 16 Membership applications by now.

This is just a reminder to fill out your application and mail it in with a $25 check to Erin Aune Registration Chairperson, 21301 W. 7 Mile Road, Franksville, WI 53126.

When you do this, you will elimiate the middleman, and reduce the chance for errors. Your cancelled check and your District 16 Membership Card will be your proof of payment.

Your riding points will count toward a year end award only if you are a member of District 16. So join now, and you won't have to concern yourself with it later.

If you have a riding buddy that does not, or is not able to access the internet, please pass this note on to them.

If you did not receive an application in the mail, just go to this link and print it out, fill it out and mail it in.

And remember... if you don't send in your check, and you don't see your season points posted? ...  No whining allowed!    Roll Eyes  Grin

Dave, what about AMA membership, is that required?  I assume I have to be an AMA member to be a D16 member?  But what if I don't care about points and just want to show up and ride in a WOTA trials event -- will I need to show proof of AMA membership?

I ask because, while I've been a member of the AMA for 11 years now, I'm not going to renew while Rob Dingman is CEO.  He needs to go.

You must be an AMA member to ride in our trials events.  You need to show proof of AMA membership in order to enter our AMA sanctioned trials events.  (The AMA provides liability coverage for the event, among other things, funded by the sanctioning fees we pay each year).

Yes, you must be an AMA member to be a D 16 member.  (I'm not sure why one would want to be just a D 16 member, since you would not be allowed to enter a trials event or any other AMA sanctioned event without your AMA card).

Also on a related subject:  D 16 requires all riders in our Trials events to be members of an AMA district, whether or not the rider wants to be eligible for a season point award.  It is still required.  You can be member of any District.

So really you need both an AMA membership card, and an AMA District card just to enter our AMA sanctioned Trials events.

Just to add a note, the AMA provides liability coverage for the event, among other things, funded by the sanctioning fees we pay each year. This also protects you the rider! and the land owner and AMA in case of  accidents by you or to you, it protects the sport and the people with in it. Over all it is for the good of all!  If there is one person that you have a problem with then talk to that person and everyone else in the system about it if you really feel it is a legitimate compliant. Stopping what you love the most because of 1 person is not worth it I say!  There is always a better way, good luck, Jim
