The  KX500 on pgs 36-37 is cool to see.
Dave Pyle who did the bike build, developed the head light system (that was a $4000 set up) also developed a quick change rear wheel set up, for under 20 second rear wheel changes. Dave is my brothers, brother in law. Dave is a former trials rider, top rider from the early 80's, my brother marred his sister.....they meet when she was a checker at a national

In the early 90's there was an arrive and race program that brought over riders fro Japan to race the Baja 500 and 1000. The problem it created is they raced in the open class, and with starting positions determined by drawing and riders off at one minute intervals. the top riders didn't want to start behind these other riders and deal with the excess dust, they wanted to get out in clean air and stay there. So Team Green would enter the entire team that would be at the event into the drawing for start positions. It was $100 to get into the drawing(all paid by Kawi), then whichever name had the best starting position they would use as the rider of record. The rider of record had to either start the race or cross the finish line.
At the 92 Baja 1000 my brothers name was drawn as first bike off......so he started the 1000 that yr on Team Green's lead bike, ridding all of 100 yards before handing the bike off to Larry Roeseler.

When Dave was promoted into a management position, Roeselers contract stipulated that Dave was responsible for his race bike's prep work, so it became a "side job" for Dave.

After Danny Hamel's death in 95, Dave and several other left Kawi and went to work at TRD where he  is at today in the NASCAR engine program

Somewhere in my boxes of cool stuff I have one of Team Greens pit books with all there planning and logistics for the 1000 in 92. I will try to find it and bring it to Noels place in Sept for anyone who would like to check it out.
