After being away from the sport for so long, I have been eagerly awaiting getting to some events. I couldn't make it earlier in the year as I had one daughter graduating from college, the other from high school.
I have heard a lot of great things about Baraboo, and didn't want it to be my first event, so I did make the last Nitro event (had a great time) to at least get some time on the bike.

Baraboo was tougher than I expected, a couple of sections had me concerned...but riding with Dave, Jake and Keith, they were all encouraging so I dove in.
I had a few bike problems during the day, some physical set backs too, but the guys in my class were patient and helpful. Dave and Jake went back with me when they were done so I could complete the sections I missed while working on my bike.

I thought my day was done when I split a side wall on my rear tire, next thing I knew there were its seems 10 other riders around offering solutions. (my daughter happened to be sitting right there, she told me later she leaned over to my wife and said "hey, we have friends")
Dave Rohrschneider told me to follow him to his trailer, had a used tire....changed it for me, schooling me on tubeless tire changes, and I was back going again in short order to finish my day. There are not too many sports where a national champion will take the time to fix a newbies problems.

I decided to not ride Sunday so I could get my bike issues sorted out and not have a frustrating day.

I am rambling, but all this to say a big THANK YOU to all those who encourage me.
Dave, Jake and Keith, I had a great time riding with you guys.
Dave, thanks again for that tire change.
Kevin and Shari thanks for your help and support also.

I will see you all in Dickeyville

Rob,

It was fun riding with you on Saturday.  It was great to have a new/returning Trials rider to ride with.  Trials riders seem to be getting scarce these days. I hope we attract more new and returning riders to our Trials events as time goes on.
