In response to a query on facebook about lodging at Dultuh MN;
It is very likely we will see a NATC National at Spirit Mountain in Proctor (Duluth), MN on 8/24 & 8/25/2013 in conjunction with an Aerostitch rally.    Although lodging opportunites are plentiful, it can be difficult to obtain because it is an exceptionally popular and delightlful recreational area.  Check out the following website;     www.visitduluth.com/lodging/

Places I have stayed that are within 5 minutes of the site in order of my preference - 1. Country Inn & Suites 218-628-0668 2. AmeriicInn 218-624-1026  3. Duluth Spirit Mountain Inn 218-628-3691.  If you like the Villa Scene, Tree House type Villas are available at the actual Trials Site...visit  www.mtvillas.com/

If you are planning or even considering this event, would strongly suggest making reservations now.  Prudence would suggest it is much easier to cancel than find lodging at a later date. Undecided

For those of you not familiar with Spirit Mountain, it has been home to 3 NATC Nationals and 3 FIM World Rounds.   Cool

In 2008, Aerostitch marked their 25th Anniversary with a  MC Rally at Spirit Mountain.  As an added attraction, they approached Steve Ahlers and the NATC about hosting an NATC NAtional  on the same weekend.  It goes without saying that they, along with many of those in attendance, were very pleased.

2013 marks the Aerostitch 30th Anniversary.  Having been pleased with the results of the venture in 2008, they again approached Steve Ahlers and the NATC about doing a National in conjuction with their celebration.  The dates they have their event set for are 8/23 - 8/25/2013.

Altho the NATC meeting is later this month and the event is not confirmed, IMHO, it is hard to imagine the NATC would turn down an event with Aerostitch backing...especially when you consider the popularity of the Spirit Mountain Venue along with a Trialsmaster, set up crew, and workers with a history of 3 NATC Nationals and 3 FIM World Rounds, all of which were a great success.

Again, not etched in stone, but considering the immense recreational popularity of the area, prudence might suggest reserving rooms now.

Note:  Aerostitch is a Dultuh based company.

I hope you all are gearing up for this event.  Nationals, especially at Duluth, are great events to attend and even greater to be a part of, whether it be as a rider, minder, pit crew or as part of the staff.  Even the Europeans (& Japanese) have ranked Duluth as one of the best events in the world praising not only about the terrific terrain, but also the excellent amenities of the area.  If you want to help in any way, please let Ahlers know, or let me know and I will relay the message

Looking forward to a significant WOTA/NITRO/UMTA presence at Duluth.  Remember, make reservations now!!!!!!

Ok.......so looking at the National website they say we need a "number" plate on the front end of our bikes. The color of the plate depends on the class you intend to ride. There was talk that people would be ridding the "Clubman" line.......is this correct? Huh Huh I would like to know so I can start gettting one lined up.

Clubman line is what I was expecting to ride.  Requires GREEN number plate.  Was planning on ordering from Ryan Young Products but see that they are $25 each.  May just get some green contact paper and cover one of my old ones.

For more info on NATC Nationsl go to
 www.mototrials.us

As far as camping at the site, google Spirit Mountain in Duluth, MN.   You can also google Duluth lodging or camping and get other info.  At past events, many people stayed in parking lots designated as pit areas (as they do at most Nationals), but only porta-poddies available - no showers available.  It would be the same as camping on site at one of the local events
