The Dickeyville 1 Event was held on Saturday, at the traditional Dickeyville site. The weather was perfect, and we had a great bunch of riders show up for a fun event.  We even had a new guy come out and give Trials a try (Aaron Kelly, welcome!).  After the trials awards were handed out, Dan Cotter and his wife cooked us some great tasting sweet corn, brats, and burgers.  A fun evening around the campfire followed. A special thanks goes out to Dan Cotter (for use of the land/site tour/supper), John Archer and Dan Salton (section layout) and The Dolls (registration).

For those of you who have not had the experience of setting up a Motorcycle Trial, please consider helping out next year.  It is actually a great way to be outside with your riding buddies, plotting challenges to test the skills of your fellow riders. You can even get some practice in between sections.  If we could divide the work up between few more people, it would make a lighter workload for everyone. There is plenty of good terrain here, with lots of opportunities for new sections.

During and after the event, its great to hear from the other riders how they were challenged by the intricacies of this obstacle or that, or the choice of this line or that. It is amazing how often they see cleverness in a section that the section set-up crew missed completely!
