Bobby Warner from UMTA is asking for people willing to be checkers at the Minnesota nationals. Anyone want to help?
2  General Category / Anything goes forum / Re: Helmet rules suggestion on: February 07, 2019, 02:46:55 PM
The WOTA rules state AMA or FIM helmet required, rest of gear (boots, gloves, shirt, pan ts, eye protection) is recommended.
3  General Category / Event Discussion / Re: Smagical Rock video links on: January 01, 2019, 11:23:24 PM
Look in the Mauston setup thread.  Bobby Warner put results on UMTA and put link there so I did not spend the time to retype them in, was a busy time for me.
4  General Category / Event Discussion / Re: 2019 WOTA Proposed Schedule on: December 16, 2018, 10:47:43 PM
The 2019 schedule has been posted on the home page.  Notice that we have added Thielman with UMTA on October 19/20.  This date is too late to get season points into District 16 for ordering awards, so it will not be a points event.  We do want to attend to help UMTA for all the events they come to of ours.  Also, Thielman is a great place to ride.

Shari just updated the post at the top of this string with the new proposed schedule (Oregon is May 4/5 and Baraboo added on June 29/30)
6  General Category / Event Discussion / Re: 2019 WOTA Proposed Schedule on: November 28, 2018, 08:04:08 PM
I agree that Mountain Road Baraboo is a top notch place for our trials events.  I love our relationship with the Mentes and do not want to lose them as friends of our club.  Here is some of the thoughts that went into the proposed schedule.  First, we do try to shoot for only one event a month.  Thielman is easy to add to the schedule because WOTA is not doing setup or signup.  Manchester is also not a WOTA event, but we do help some for setup but there is no brush to clear.  For WOTA events we have a need for trialsmasters for each place.  Looking at Oregon, Door County, Mauston and Wauzeka we have trialsmasters that own or their family owns the land, they live near the land, ride on it often thru the year and are able to keep on top of the condition of the area, clear fallen trees, keep brush at bay.  For Baraboo, I had stepped up for this task when Jim V was no longer able to do it.  Being 3.5 hours away I have not been able to stay on top of clearing the fallen trees and keeping brush down which made the preparations this year a very large task.  There was very little help that showed up when I did have work days.  It would be great if someone that lived near there could adopt the area, keep on top of the conditions in the woods thru the year and be the trialsmaster.  Still not saying I will not step up in future years, but need a break next year.

Fixed my typo's on loop scores, totals were correct.
10  General Category / Event Discussion / Wauzeka detours on: October 02, 2018, 11:11:25 AM
So for anyone coming to the Wauzeka trials event state highway 27 to county N is closed.so if you are coming down from Minnesota, lacrosse area you might want to just go all the way to Prairie du Chien on 35. (there is another detour for 35 in Prairie du Chien, follow signs) Go all the way through town to Bridgeport and turn left on Hwy 60. Right when you get into Wauzeka turn left again onto county road N and it's about 5 miles to Burgus lane then follow the signs and drive slow for blind corners and hills.  Same if coming from Iowa, do not go to highway 27, after crossing river turn right to stay on 18, it eventually turns right again and joins up with 35 to Bridgeport, turn left on hwy 60 to Wauzeka, then left on CR N to Burgus Lane, turn right follow signs to pits.

As many of you know, UMTA is hosting a NATC National Mototrials event on June 1st and 2nd 2019.  They need WOTAs help, mainly with checkers for the weekend event.  It will be located near Gilbert, MN.  Here is a link for the sign up to be a checker https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe6PpsjmcLgWi5irFR9V74E8ieCo6Z0pXFsAXgRrzb4HltdfA/viewform  You do not need to be a trials expert to be a checker, there will be one lead checker assigned to each section with 2 or 3 additional checkers to be able to see the area and mark the scorecards.  The sign up form has a link to a video on scoring.  Hope to see many of you there!

Tim had 1,3,3 on section 5.  Jacob Loer and Kyle Kremer both had 3,3,1 Jack Drummond 2,3,3 and Hugh Hadfield 5,3,1.  Tough section but there was no other way to get up the bank.
