Title: Trials Training in Dubuque 2020 Post by: 2whlrcr on March 09, 2017, 07:49:52 PM I've spent every day of the last week, for an hour or two cleaning up the sections. Last weekend it was excellent riding here, due to all the warm weather we have had. Unfortunately the next 4 or 5 days is calling for temps well below freezing and that will put some frost back in the ground. It should only take a few days of moderate temps to make it good again, so if anyone is interested in riding it shouldn't be too long now. I've got infinite terrain from beginner to pro, so nobody will be bored. If anyone is interested, post up here or call me at 3192904162.

Is there an Iowa trials club? If not, has there ever been one? Just curious. Thanks, Bobby Title: Re: Trials Training in Dubuque Post by: 2whlrcr on March 10, 2017, 07:12:09 PM No. Yes, AITRA. All Iowa Trials Rider Association which fizzled away in the mid '90's. Current Iowa guys ride NITRO and WOTA events and the western IA riders go to the Nebraska events.

Title: Re: Trials Training in Dubuque Post by: 2whlrcr on March 22, 2017, 09:41:31 PM It's in great shape right now. All the snow is gone, but we are getting rain before the weekend. :-[

Title: Re: Trials Training in Dubuque Post by: 2whlrcr on March 24, 2017, 05:33:57 PM I rode my KTM today. It was perfect. It has starting to rain now and we are expected to get an inch. Right now there is a 50% on Sunday. If it does not rain on Sunday, by the afternoon trials riding might be ok. But you know those rocks are treacherous when they are wet.

Title: Re: Trials Training in Dubuque Post by: 2whlrcr on October 08, 2017, 12:49:27 PM They riding is good again here, with the undergrowth dying off. Anybody wants to ride, let me know. We've got about a month, before it all goes away for another season.
Title: Re: Trials Training in Dubuque Post by: 2whlrcr on March 02, 2018, 06:54:39 PM Cleared out a new section with plenty of Champ size rocks. Some spots are very good riding right now.

Title: Re: Trials Training in Dubuque Post by: 2whlrcr on March 28, 2020, 06:10:30 PM I have cleared all of the sections and they are ready to ride. For those who have not been here in awhile, a lot of sections have been cleaned out more thoroughly and it's low vegetation right now. It's pretty wet, but that would be excellent low traction practice for those so inclined. Dubuque also has several mountain bike parks for those who mtb ride if you want to bring bicycles too.
With the Corona threat I am "working" from home and am able to ride mid week for at least the next couple of weeks. The timber is a good place to social distance and be safe. Call me is you want to ride. There are plenty of Expert, Champ and Pro lines just waiting for you. I assure you they are bigger than they look and you will break your bike, or yourself if you screw up. Of course plenty of other lines too. Anyway next week's weather looks to be great for the first week in November and I will be home mid week if anyone wants to ride. 319 290 4162
The tree in the photos is at least 4' in diameter...
