Title: Woodcutting
Post by: Nursehuber on September 26, 2014, 01:26:31 PM
FYI  Woodcutting at the Mente's is planned for October 25,2014.  Many WOTA members volunteer, and come and help, cut and split and stack firewood, the families use during the winter.  And Judy always feeds us well with hot soup and sandwiches

Last year we had a Fun Ride or Gate Trials event on Sunday after the wood cutting.  This year's Fun Ride is cancelled, will not take place, due to lack of interest, or inability to attend due to other commitments.

See ya, next month

Shari

Although we will not set up gate trials or have any other organized event the day after the wood cutting some of us will be bringing our bikes to practice on Sunday, and Judy does have the camping permit, so anyone can stay and join us.

Per Jim Voigtlander
"Big ALERT!!! ALL WOTA PEOPLE! Mente Farm wood cutting, I was there tonight and saw the amount of trees down in the woods on the far south end by the big hill up from the creek bottom,,,,, there is a lot of trees down there from a small wind storm that broke off a lot of tops of the trees and blew a lot over, if anyone has a 4whleeler that they can bring to help pull out some of the small stuff that would help a lot! there is a lot to get out of the woods! some of the trees are quiet long and I cut a lot of them in half to get them pulled out easier, and there was a lot of trees standing with no tops that I cut off too. so since the weather is going to be nice please come and help!! I also see a couple a good spots to put a few new sections for next year! I talked to Jim M, tonight too and he said they are going to try to get some of the stuff pulled out and get a start on it before we all get there! There is enough work to keep us all busy! It will make all the difference to get some 4wheelers in there pulling out a lot of the small stuff!  The weather is going to be great for us getting together and Helping out Jim M, so lets all show up and help him get the wood cut up!"

Some of us may be there starting Friday, but 9:00 am Saturday will be the main start time.  Also Kenny is working on getting the porta-potty there.  FYI Dave S. and I (Kevin) are planning on practicing on our trials bikes there on Sunday if anyone wants to join us.
