Title: Re: Baraboo Mt. Road Post by: khub on July 04, 2013, 08:07:03 AM Will have my camper at Judy's across the street for the weekend, so should be getting to the woods by 9:00. Jim V will, and I think Andy H will be there and Dave S on Sunday. Will have Shari's new 4-wheeler and my trials bike and dual sport, so getting into the woods will be no problem. Would really like your help with the Champ/Expert lines.

I'll be here both weekends and would love your help. Shouldn't need much hauled, bring your trials bike so you can test spots before we set the ribbon and arrows. Title: Re: Baraboo Mt. Road Post by: khub on July 06, 2013, 07:44:20 AM Have my cell phone, 319-330-6700.
Title: Re: Baraboo Mt. Road Post by: khub on July 06, 2013, 07:05:11 PM Very productive day. Good turnout of help. John A started yesterday on a section, today Jim V, Kenny K, Andy H, John A and I got 6 sections cleaned out, ribbons and arrows set. Have 4 or 5 other areas that have boarder ribbon and some cleaning up ready for arrows. Noel showed up in the afternoon and gave some pointers for the upper class lines. I will be there around 9:00 Sunday, Noel will be there as well. Sounds like we could get some rain in the afternoon, so we will see how late we stay, may be a shorter day than today.

Thanks Scott Title: Re: Baraboo Mt. Road Post by: khub on July 08, 2013, 06:58:28 PM Very productive weekend. We have 10 sections complete except for start and end plates. We also have 4 with outer ribbon set. If anyone still wants to help I'm planning a work day this Saturday where we should be able to build 2 more sections and finish the 4 that are started. May not need much help after Saturday if all goes well.

I am planning to come out on Saturday to help finish the sections. I'll see you there. The current weather forecast says 0% chance of rain, high 83 degrees. 8) Dave Title: Re: Baraboo Mt. Title: Re: Baraboo Mt. Road Post by: khub on July 13, 2013, 07:25:08 PM With all the good help we now have 8 sections for all classes each day and do not reuse any. All I have left is a little weed wacking and then put up start and end plates. Should be a great ride next weekend, hope all can come.

And the weather is predicted to cool down by the weekend! I'm looking forward to it. 8) Title: Re: Baraboo Mt. Road Post by: khub on July 22, 2013, 04:59:23 PM What a great weekend. Was glad the rain held off until all the riders were done. Thanks to all those that stayed out in the rain and helped tear down the sections. It was a great help. Main thing I need to doin the future is work on not making the sections too hard, mostly for the Advance line that I ride and then the Experts too. Guess I should try them when I build them to identify the real difficulty of them. Since I have been riding exhibition (or expidition as Shari says) I wouldn't be getting an unfair advantage.
Title: Re: Baraboo Mt. Road Post by: dschigoda on July 23, 2013, 01:41:17 PM Even though it was difficult, I still had fun. It definately took a different strategy to do well, and that made it an interesting challenge.
Title: Re: Baraboo Mt. Road Post by: RL 280 on July 25, 2013, 04:14:49 PM I was asked a number of times " How are you doing? ".........and my reply was always " GREAT , THIS IS BARABOO ISN'T IT ? " and that pretty much sums up my feelings on this location and event, glad its back to a 2- day too!!!!
Also Many thanks to John, Judy and Jim M ,As an active member of 2 separate MC clubs it amazes me how AWESOME the land owners are that I have come in contact with . Ralph Title: Re: Baraboo Mt. Road Post by: uberfraznb on July 29, 2013, 12:24:18 PM Yes, many thanks to the Mente Family for hosting. Great job on the sections. Yes, they were difficult, but they were very well marked/layed out. All the lines were so clean, there was hardly a spot with any leaves or debris to be found.
