Title: Reciprocity
Post by: club95 on February 05, 2013, 08:27:30 AM
Last Saturday night at the UMTA Banquet, there was some discussion about counting the BRF event as a UMTA points event.  Although most were in favor of continuing the interstate event (and voted to do so), there was some concern expressed about the WOTA not having a recipricol event.  IMHO, with the UMTA having a 2 day event at Thielman May 18 & 19 and September 14 & 15, it might be a good idea to have one of them count as a WOTA point paying event.  With declining attendance at Trials, as well as most MC disciplines, the continuation of interstate events certainly won't hurt the cause.....
Just sayin!

I am in favor of improving our clubs relationship by doing this.  Setting up events is hard work so if our clubs can combine helping this way we all get more riding with less set up work.  Unfortunately, we already have this years schedule set and adding another event would be difficult (but not impossible).  We already have an event on May 18 and 19 (Wauzeka).  At a minimum, we could encourage our members to attend the UMTA event in September with it being a preview of future years coordination.  We could list it on our schedule as a non-district 16 points event.  Looking for others to weigh in on this.
