Title: Re: Additional topics to be discussed at spring meeting (at Wauzeka?) Post by: Murrcutio on April 27, 2012, 12:24:19 PM I actually was hoping to actually make it through three loops for once
we drive from three and a half hours away for this event, and sometimes (almost always) the group I'm riding with "dilly-dallies" :-\ I usually make it to two or three WOTA events every year, and almost never finish the full three loops (with only 7-8 sections) -"yes, if the whole group stays together and only finished 2 loops, then you can judge them on that" but some of us amatuer riders need that third loop to come back first loop is long and we walk through every section, second loop is try and remember the section, ??? third loop SHOULD BE, "I know it, I'm gonna ace it this time". . . ;) out on Ohio when we go, we run 10 sections, 4 loops, noon - 5pm in conclusion, I like the earlier start time, I just wish we could expedite the loop process a little bit faster Title: Re: Additional topics to be discussed at spring meeting (at Wauzeka?) Post by: dschigoda on April 30, 2012, 09:02:30 AM I agree on setting things up so we can ride more sections/loops in an event. Back in the '70's, when I rode in Michigan, I recall riding 4 loops of 10 sections regulary. :)

Post by: khub on May 03, 2012, 04:55:18 PM When I was in Tenneessee I talked to a couple from Michigan, they said they usually have 50 to 60 riders, ride 5 loops of 8 to 10 sections in 4 or 5 hours. They also require observers for each section. I think that way, riders roll up to a section, get in line and ride one after the other with no time between riders. With our groups, we seem to ride up to a section as a group, all get off the bikes and mill around for a while, until finally someone gets on their bike and rides, but then the othere don't jump in line, they all watch each other. This seems to happen even on the 2nd and 3rd loop. With observers, you get in line and have to ride when you are next or the person behind you goes. We either have to have each group not waste time between riders, or find a way to have observers. NITRO is in discussions of different ways to do that using the riders taking turns. We can discuss at the Sat meeting in Wauzeka.
Title: Re: Additional topics to be discussed at spring meeting (at Wauzeka?) Post by: Murrcutio on May 03, 2012, 06:54:01 PM Jim: the sizes are the same, some are longer, some are shorter. They did however give us 4.5 - 5 hours to finish.
Kevin: your right, out there, EVERY section has a checker, THEY write your score down, and yes, when there are people behind you, you either let them pass or ride the section, that keeps it flowing nicely, not a lot of that bottlenecking Title: Re: Additional topics to be discussed at spring meeting (at Wauzeka?) Post by: JVoigtlander on May 04, 2012, 05:36:02 PM checkers would be nice buttttt, where ya gona find them??? if we could get more family involvement we could use the better halfs of riders for that??? maybe? that in it self is why everyone that is a trials rider in WOTA should be at the meeting!Yes I said meeting! (dreamer) I know! I am planning on makeing smaller sections at Baraboo this year, so I am hoping that will help in speeding up things and help us get thru all the sections and all the loops. I want to try something different!
