Title: NATC new rules
Post by: northernnorm on March 19, 2012, 08:29:33 PM
Through the years WOTA has tried to adopt NATC scoring rules back when more than 1 rider ever rode a National . anyhow they have now decided to assess (toe dabs) not sure how they decide on a 1 or 2 point penalty ,as it is not likely possible to see on both sides of bike and assess if the toe pry was to an advantage , seems lame. But Kirschner and Detwiller and guys who like to make sure they catch and penalize riders trying to be "sneaky"will probably like it.   Also any CONTACT with a section marker by machine or rider  ( I assume boundary tape also but it just says "marker")  is  a 5  ., that seems a bit harsh at a local level as we are not often observing every single ride with that much scrutiny so  the old break a marker rule seems  easier to score , . We may have to discuss this at the 1st round.

There has been discussion in the NITRO ranks on this also........more concern on the marker rule though......I read it ( entire paragraph) a couple of times....it states that the ribbon is " THE RIBBON  "  and the ARROWS are considered  "THE MARKERS "................so you can not touch an ARROW with your bike.......but you can run over the ribbon if you do not go outside of that ribbon............At least that's what I came up with....Ralph
