Title: Deep Thoughts on the AGT experience
Post by: northernnorm on September 19, 2011, 09:30:38 PM
So now that the show is done I want to share some things about the ride. However exciting it was for those that know the Bros  it was maybe 10fold that for us heare  on Bray Rd. Its fantastic to hear all the feedback and how many people voted and pleaded others to also vote. After the wife and I decided it was now or maybe never  get out to LA/Hollywood and also When I got  a direct call asking to show up a day sooner to be able to  get an interview on tape I started to compose my speech(even knowing best case they would use about 6 seconds of it) ,.  Basically I wanted to say that I have been involved in American trials riding and competitions from day 1  actually building or  highly modifying my first ride out of  a Honda SL 100.  Then I was going to relay  that my experience with trials as a sport is basically about trying new and seemingly impossible things on a motorcycle and  making that look so easy that other people  give it  a try and either have some success or perhaps fail miserably ,either way its kind of fun. In the early days  the MX mags  liked to say watching  a trial was like watching paint dry ,well with modern machinery and the focus on extreme sports I say things have changed . Maybe I would have mentioned  that  in trial comps you do not get to practioce the course  and each time an event is held the course is different. But the most basic message  is that trials  is one of the coolest  unpromoted extreme sports in the world  and my sons have taken the challenge  and gone way beyond where I would have ever dreamed.   BUT I was never offered  a shot at the Mic  since Phil and my wife  insisted on inviting -Secret Weapon - Rad Grandma ; by the time she walked through the smoke cloud 6 times  the parents were forgotten . At least I got to give Nick Cannon a fist bump in the popcorn room, But I would have much prefferred to rub Howies head.

Did anyone see Symon Cowell on Leno last  night .What a moron  I disliked that clown the first time I heard him on Idol  and he has never given me reason to change my mind. When Natasha Leggero form  a new mostly unfunny  Lorne Michaels production (up all  night) paused for  a breif moment to think of how to answer a ?; the rude ,arrogant flaming englishmen couldnt help but  start sputtering  Duh after Duh at her  ,come on m,an move  to cape cod or NY where on the East coast rudeness is the norm. Why has only one female singer  won the show in 6 years ?Does "Americas" vote really count  Does  America really think male cowboys and crooners  are the ultimate show.
