Title: Mountain Rd Event July 24th Post by: JVoigtlander on July 11, 2011, 06:12:43 PM as I talked with Judy and Jim Mente last weekend they told me that they will have a none profit club/group supplying food on the grounds for this event! they think it will be beef sandwiches something on that order, but reasonable I would say! I have to give them a great deal of thanks for all the great things they have done for us here at mountain Rd they have taken care of all the permits and for us and handled the neighbors complaints, which we never had a problem anyway, and they fixed the road and pulled trees from the creek too help make some great places to ride this year and last!!! that good old John Deere pulled through for us too ! I have got to take my hat off to them both for all thier kindness and helping us keep this great event going!!!! thanks to them!!!! God Bless them!!! and be sure to thank them if you see them there!!!!! Hope to see you all there!!!

Title: Re: Mountain Rd Event July 24th Post by: northernnorm on July 28, 2011, 07:47:26 AM Yeah another fantastic WOTA event just when I thought trials was dying we get a nice turnout, even a fair group of pedestrians. Kevin H ub er and I knocked ourselves out sweating 4 hours Monday and Tuesday clearing 2 more very sweet areas at Mauston ,the first spot just North of the section 1 rocks( similar stone steps with a longer wraparound climb) and in the 1st north kink near the 1st extreme loop downhill a natural watkins glen style waterfall flat enough to ride up. He also sawed up a lot of downed dead wood just below and East of the deck for an all classes section and better access to send the loop Eastward. Wednesday after he left in the morning hard rain I scraped and raked all the spots and than took 4 stroke out and with the new mositure really grooved in some tracks .May psrt a few pics . Next time I head up I will post a new thread its only 6 weeks until event ,it would be much appreciated to have some more setup help, BTW I will need materials Jim. Not sure about Dickeyville ,I guess you may drop off arrows up there when time gets closer/.. I may be heading up with the backhoe in the next few weeks so many large leaners will be pulled down .
Title: Re: Mountain Rd Event July 24th Post by: JVoigtlander on July 28, 2011, 07:31:19 PM Hey Norm,,,,, just call if you are there durring the week and I would comeup after work and help! after 3pm when I get off work, I will bring up some ribbons too! and I am ordering arrows too ! But I thought that you had some there already ?? how many do you have? Or how many do you need ?? I will be ordering some new ones asap but I am not sure if I will have time to get the hard plastic backs on them in time for the event! Just let me know what you need and I wil get on it! thanks for showing up at baraboo! it was a good day!
Title: Re: Mountain Rd Event July 24th Post by: khub on July 28, 2011, 08:36:01 PM Would have liked to stay and do more work at Mauston, since the next event is a 2 day (more sections needed), but I had to be back at work Thrusday. Glad I left when I did, even though it was a little slippery making the turn at the end of the lane. My 5th wheel wanted to push me straight across the road. Then, after I passed Dubuque, it started to rain there. They got 12 inches and a lot of record flooding. Highway 151 is still closed south of Dubuque, which is how I came home. Dickeyville is a few miles north of Dubuque and looks like they got 6 to 8 inches, so gald we didn't have a start there yet, or all the ribbons and arrows would have been washed away. Also looks like Lena (NITRO) got a lot of rain and they did have some setup done already for the event August 6/7.
