Title: 2009 D16 Trials Events (revised 12/16/08) Post by: Caballero on November 14, 2008, 06:52:56 AM Here is what we have so far...
May 16-17 Wauzeka WI June 7 Elkhorn WI June 27-28 Polo IL July 26 Baraboo WI (Mountain Rd) Aug 15-16 Dickeyville WI Sept 12-13 Baraboo WI (Hwy 12) Sept 26-27 Hixton WI I would also like to have a WOTA meeting with the officers and the trialsmasters in Feb or March to finalize details and spread out the workload. Someplace central to everyone, maybe a meal as well.Remember to join WOTA before the first event to save money! Title: Re: 2009 D16 Trials Events (revised 11/24/08) Post by: dschigoda on December 03, 2008, 01:03:01 PM Now that I look at our D-16 schedule, I am seeing a potential problem with our August dates.
We have two, two-day triials scheduled, back to back in August. It would appear to me that this would likely cause a shortage of potential volunteer workers for the Dickeyville events. (In 2008, three of us spent the entire weekend (the Lena weekend) setting up most of the "Saturday" sections.) Since Lena is near many of our members, it would likely draw away what few volunteers we have. The way the D-16 schedule stands, it looks unworkable to me. We need to make adjustments so that these weekend events are not "back to back". Thoughts? We can't move Lena, so the Dickeyville date would probably need to be moved.
Title: Re: 2009 D16 Trials Events (revised 11/24/08) Post by: Caballero on December 06, 2008, 06:16:46 AM Can we move Dickeyville to Aug 22-23 ?
Title: Re: 2009 D16 Trials Events (revised 11/24/08) Post by: khub on December 07, 2008, 06:46:09 AM I know I'm a newbie and only one person but August 29/30 would work better for me.
Thanks Kevin Huber Title: Re: 2009 D16 Trials Events (revised 11/24/08) Post by: Caballero on December 11, 2008, 06:39:55 AM Is this getting resolved?
We need to get the final schedule in to the District this month ASAP. Title: Re: 2009 D16 Trials Events (revised 12/16/08) Post by: Caballero on December 16, 2008, 06:38:19 AM Dave,You need to finalize this and send a copy to Judy Sumner at D-16.Thanks, Jorge

What about a Feb or March meeting? Sounds like a great idea to me. Title: Re: 2009 D16 Trials Events (revised 12/16/08) Post by: dschigoda on January 07, 2009, 09:59:10 AM Dan,
Happy New Year! Our current official schedule does not include Hixton. We can add the Hixton event later, if and when it becomes a confirmed event. Dave Title: Re: 2009 D16 Trials Events (revised 12/16/08) Post by: Caballero on January 08, 2009, 06:50:03 AM The only date that conflicts as of now is Feb 7-8 due to the Int M/C Show in Chicago. I go to this show every year.
If anyone is interested in going/carpooling, let me know. Any dates bad for anyone else? I think that the Madison area would be fairly central for everyone as far a a meeting place is concerned. We need to post the members that will be attending so we can figure out a meeting place. Probably a lunch meeting so Mark can have enough time to make it in. Title: Re: 2009 D16 Trials Events (revised 12/16/08) Post by: dschigoda on January 08, 2009, 02:30:56 PM Madison seems to be a pretty central place.
I am open as far as dates. We should also schedule a back-up date, in case we have a snow storm on the primary day. I would like to carpool from the Milwaukee area to Madison, if anyone else is going from the area. I would like to discuss buying all our trophies for the year "in bulk". We could put it out for bids. I think we could save some money this way. We use a good guy at the ski jump for the trophys. ;D
Title: Re: 2009 D16 Trials Events (revised 12/16/08) Post by: alte on January 30, 2009, 02:48:16 PM How about a meeting on Feb. 14 or 15. (Although valentines is the 14th)
My 2nd choice would be March 21 or 22. I think wota could buy a lunch for those attending. Madison is ok for me. Trophies in bulk is a good idea. Maybe something other than the standard standup type. Just one idea - custom medals, mugs or ? could be made for a reasonable cost along with a gift certificate? Title: Re: 2009 D16 Trials Events (revised 12/16/08) Post by: dschigoda on February 02, 2009, 09:24:27 AM Metals or mugs or other alternates to trophies would be fine with me. Or even a rebate instead of a trophy would be fine for me.
Title: Re: 2009 D16 Trials Events (revised 12/16/08) Post by: Caballero on February 09, 2009, 07:10:23 AM Meeting March 21 or 22nd. We can meet at a restaurant in Madison like Buffalo Wild Wings on Monona Drive.
Input on which day and what time needed. Let me know which and I'll make arrangements at the restaurant. All Trialsmasters must attend along with WOTA Officers. Thanks, Jorge Title: Re: 2009 D16 Trials Events (revised 12/16/08) Post by: dschigoda on February 09, 2009, 03:06:44 PM March 21st would be better for me. I will likely be out of town on March 22nd.
Title: Re: 2009 D16 Trials Events (revised 12/16/08) Post by: alte on February 12, 2009, 01:28:58 PM March 21 is good for me. Mark D. said he can make it any day.
1pm? Title: Re: 2009 D16 Trials Events (revised 12/16/08) Post by: Caballero on February 13, 2009, 07:07:11 AM The date is set for March 21st. I'll call Jim V and let him know.
We still need Dan C, Homer W, Noel S, and anyone else that you can think should be there. How does noon sound for the time? I'll contact the restaurant and post the address. Title: Re: 2009 D16 Trials Events (revised 12/16/08) Post by: dschigoda on February 13, 2009, 08:39:17 AM Noon is fine with me.
Title: Re: 2009 D16 Trials Events (revised 2/16/09) Post by: Caballero on February 16, 2009, 07:29:09 AM The time is changed to 1:00 PM as per Mark Doll.
Title: Re: 2009 D16 Trials Events (revised 12/16/08) Post by: Hare Trigger on February 16, 2009, 02:32:48 PM OK, and where?
Title: Re: 2009 D16 Trials Events (revised 12/16/08) Post by: Caballero on February 22, 2009, 07:45:20 AM The Buffalo Wild Wings on Monona Dr in Monona.
I spoke with the restaurant and they were unsure if that was March Madness weekend, so it may be crowded as all restaurants in Madison will be. Does anyone know if it is? Title: Re: 2009 D16 Trials Events (revised 12/16/08) Post by: Hare Trigger on February 22, 2009, 09:06:58 AM Yes, that's one of the weekends. http://mmod.ncaa.com/?source=mktg_09MMOD_SEg_MMOD4
Title: Re: 2009 D16 Trials Events (revised 12/16/08) Post by: Caballero on February 23, 2009, 07:34:54 AM The BWW said they would welcome us but I will need to get there early to get the tables. No problem.
Are we ok with the fact that it could be a little noisy there? If not, I can try something else. Title: Re: 2009 D16 Trials Events (revised 12/16/08) Post by: dschigoda on February 23, 2009, 08:53:48 AM Since we will be spending much of our time discussing and planning trials event issues, I'm thinking noise would be a problem.
Title: Re: 2009 D16 Trials Events (revised 12/16/08) Post by: Hare Trigger on February 23, 2009, 02:48:10 PM Is there a place with a back-room we could use? I know the Madison Motorcycle Club used to meet at a bar with a back-room. Can't remember the name, but it was along the belt-line also, down by Fish Hatchery Road. But maybe a bar wouldn't be open earlier in the day?
Title: Re: 2009 D16 Trials Events (revised 12/16/08) Post by: Hare Trigger on February 23, 2009, 04:45:08 PM What about the Madison Public Library? Looks like there are 4 different branches with small conference rooms, and use of the rooms is free for non-profit community organizations... someone would just have to put in a Meeting Room Application for WOTA. http://www.madisonpubliclibrary.org/about/meetingroom.pdf
The library policy page is here: http://www.madisonpubliclibrary.org/about/meetingroom.html Title: Re: 2009 D16 Trials Events (revised 12/16/08) Post by: Caballero on February 24, 2009, 06:48:12 AM We used Alt & Bach's, Tully's 2, and now the Coliseum Bar. I'll check with them and get back.

Title: Re: 2009 D16 Trials Events (revised 12/16/08) Post by: Caballero on March 07, 2009, 07:38:51 AM Sorry guys, I've been out of town. I tried some of the bars that the MMC use and so far no luck.
We can still go to Buffalo Wild Wings as originally discussed. I'll try Alt & Bachs today and report back. We could meet at my house if we run out of options. I'm in Lodi. |
