Title: Smage Gate Trials and WOTA Annual Meeting? Post by: Hare Trigger on September 19, 2008, 07:11:22 AM Is this going to happen again? When?
Title: Re: Smage Gate Trials and WOTA Annual Meeting? Post by: Caballero on September 19, 2008, 05:44:13 PM I spoke with Noel at Baraboo and he said yes, but no date set yet.
We need to have a WOTA meeting prior th the Sanction Meeting Nov 8th to set 2009 Schedules. Is Jim Altemus going to represent WOTA at the meeting? Dave Schigoda has agreed to replace me as the D 16 Trials Referee for 2009. :'( If there is a problem with that, let me know ASAP. Title: Re: Smage Gate Trials and WOTA Annual Meeting? Post by: northernnorm on September 23, 2008, 11:26:29 AM Yes we need to get on this to set a date ,Jorge remind me which date is the least good. this year our harvest will be a bit delayed but we need to keep it in Oct. for a slightly better shot at decent weather. Lets get some feed back about potentially Oct 25th???????????
Title: Re: Smage Gate Trials and WOTA Annual Meeting? Post by: Hare Trigger on September 23, 2008, 08:17:40 PM There's a NITRO event at Wapello, IA, on the 26th. Might that affect attendance if you go with the 25th? Maybe the weekend before, Oct 18, would be better? No NITRO event that weekend.
Title: Re: Smage Gate Trials and WOTA Annual Meeting? Post by: Caballero on September 24, 2008, 06:29:16 AM I'm out of town the weekend of the 18th.
The 25th works for me. Title: Re: Smage Gate Trials and WOTA Annual Meeting? Post by: alte on September 29, 2008, 04:36:53 PM 25th is good for me. Gives me more practice time!
I probably can make the sanction meeting too. Title: Re: Smage Gate Trials and WOTA Annual Meeting? Post by: Hare Trigger on September 30, 2008, 06:04:09 AM So is the 25th a solid date? Can I post it on the home page?
Title: Re: Smage Gate Trials and WOTA Annual Meeting? Post by: northernnorm on October 02, 2008, 06:59:24 AM I talked with Mark Doll and we talked about the 26th because my wife is in Devils Lake Saturdy and Phil is planning on a Green Bay Pitbike race Saturday so we were hoping Sunday would be ok with most riders , doubting too many will travel to Iowa, N*-oel
Title: Re: Smage Gate Trials and WOTA Annual Meeting? Post by: alte on October 03, 2008, 09:16:07 PM The 26th is good for me. Give me even more practice time! Is Wild bills mystery chile surprise on the menu?
Title: Re: Smage Gate Trials and WOTA Annual Meeting? Post by: northernnorm on October 06, 2008, 09:26:11 AM D*-an post it for the 26 th we will try the Sunday date. also mention we may run a 6 lap endurocross race after the trials.
Title: Re: Smage Gate Trials and WOTA Annual Meeting? Post by: northernnorm on October 07, 2008, 06:21:24 AM Jim,Jim you dont need an extra day to practice you need and extra day to secure a decent motorbike. I have several good choices =if you want to stay with a low output horsepower bike that you seem to relish, I have a 2001, 290 that is sort of soft ,or go with an 09 125 and put a 200 kit on for about $7000 if you are ready for a bike that can spin the rear wheel and have some fun on the loop. Philbrick has an 05 ,290 or Craigs 07 ,290 for $4700 or Pats comp only 08 for $5200 probably( need to ask Ryan) / The EX could cosist of a trials bike only class and then a MX/EX only class maybe a prize or maybe pool cash or maybe give a lousy bottle of beer like the bozos in Minnesota .But since we arent charging $150 for rider/minder maybe 1/2 a can of beer is more appropriate.
Title: Re: Smage Gate Trials and WOTA Annual Meeting? Post by: uberfraznb on October 08, 2008, 10:01:30 AM Is the endurocross open for people who aren't riding the trial? I know someone who maybe interested.
Title: Re: Smage Gate Trials and WOTA Annual Meeting? Post by: northernnorm on October 08, 2008, 07:10:57 PM Yes ,but there wont be a lot of free riding space available while the trials is going on( I dont like the noise and risk) so as long as they understand it is not a fre for all funpark bring them out. It is not an AMA event or even a WOTA sanctioned ride so we will have releases to sign and go at it. Gate trial from 12 to 3 then EX at 3;30 Pizza by 4;30
Title: Re: Smage Gate Trials and WOTA Annual Meeting? Post by: northernnorm on October 09, 2008, 08:04:41 AM Also of some interest ++=++there is a fair chance I will have a 2009 3.2 4t Sherco here for short demo rides!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Title: Re: Smage Gate Trials and WOTA Annual Meeting? Post by: Caballero on October 16, 2008, 06:26:36 PM Sounds like a busy afternoon. Why don't we have the WOTA meeting at 10:00 am and then spend the rest of the day having fun?
I know that the meeting is not on anyone's fun to do list, but we need to get thigs going for 2009. We need dates for the events because the sanction meeting is the 8th of November. What does the endurocross course consist of? I'm thinking I might bring my 83 Husky Enduro to race. Title: Re: Smage Gate Trials and WOTA Annual Meeting? Post by: northernnorm on October 16, 2008, 08:11:15 PM The meeting first is actually a good idea as long as people agree. It is a bit far for Dolls to get here so that could be a problem.I know they have gotten here on the late side before ,could have something to do with milking cows. Our EX has rocks logs dirt and tires like the real ones one problem is the course was made for practice so it has a fair amount of single line stuff ,not many places to pass ,aand it might be too much to tape off whole course to keep schlubs from cutting the course . Anyway its just for kicks or sh!ts and giggles (if your Kirschner) he likes to say that a lot. RYP did come through with some free swag like hats ,socks, and such.
Title: Re: Smage Gate Trials and WOTA Annual Meeting? Post by: Caballero on October 20, 2008, 08:05:59 AM I was with the Mark Doll yesterday and he is planning to be at Elkhorn by 10:30 or a little later.
We should plan to have the meeting as soon as he get's there. Title: Re: Smage Gate Trials and WOTA Annual Meeting? Post by: Hare Trigger on October 20, 2008, 11:00:38 AM Noel, confirm that this will fit your schedule for the day and I'll update the home page.

Post by: northernnorm on October 20, 2008, 07:09:37 PM Looks OK to Me Hare go 4 it If weather is good we may hust convene out in woods I plan to park the Hobbi there again to have a toilet available. We can decide where to meet once our group has assembled.
Title: Re: Smage Gate Trials and WOTA Annual Meeting? Post by: monty4 on October 22, 2008, 09:25:00 PM Was curious, how did Pat do @ Octobertest?
Title: Re: Smage Gate Trials and WOTA Annual Meeting? Post by: northernnorm on October 23, 2008, 08:48:55 PM He had 1 point each day . The only other entries in EX hibition were 2 Mizell s Pat rode the 4 stroke on Sunday and was giving a thumbs up . I did get mine so rides may be had for 5 $ s for 5 minutes unless you bought a Sherco from me. Hopefully the snow comes late or light ,Sundays forecast is far less nice than we enjoyed last weekend for the Lois Bean field races. Oh well we will have the Hobbi out ther with the heater on and maybe an all dAY fire to huddle around if it is nasty . i am not going overboard with the layout knowing the traction will likely be nil ,.

Title: Re: Smage Gate Trials and WOTA Annual Meeting? Post by: Caballero on October 24, 2008, 06:16:09 AM Noel, $5 for 5 min? Are you kidding? That's a four stroke Sherco not a Montesa. LOL :D
Hey, I bought a Sherco from a guy that picked it up from you. Does that count? ;) See ya Sunday. Title: Re: Smage Gate Trials and WOTA Annual Meeting? Post by: northernnorm on October 24, 2008, 08:50:17 AM Yes probably on both accounts
Title: Re: Smage Gate Trials and WOTA Annual Meeting? Post by: northernnorm on October 25, 2008, 08:33:06 AM I set THE course last night and I felt good about it until we got another shot of rain last night ,I will probably get some pine shavings for the uphills .Also with only 4 sections and most likely less than 20 riders I think we can be done in just a couple of hours, it is supposed to be sunny and very windy so maybe running the EX 1 st would also dry things a bit but with all the leaves on the ground it will maybe not dry much. I also might consider a modified gate rule where for maybe 2 of the 4 attempts we could allow a single dab??? or?
Title: Re: Smage Gate Trials and WOTA Annual Meeting? Post by: northernnorm on November 03, 2008, 07:26:39 AM Thanks to those who came out the riding was actually very good. we canned the EX partly because Phil was still missing a usable clutch finger and Pats 200 has no spark. We are still up for people coming out and riding as long as the snow stays away give a call 2627234773 also have some nice 290 s 4 sale/
