Decisions will be made for 2008, so be there if you have ideas and would like to be heard. Optional: Bring a dish or dessert to pass if you like. To add the following rules and info to wota's by-laws. Click on the link below to read. www.usmotorcycletrials.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/07/Observed_Trials_Proposed_AMA_Rules_2006.pdf In particular, (Section U.5.a.) to change our class names from Champ, Ex, Adv., Int., Nov. to A,B,C,D,E which was proposed by the USMTA to standardize all the clubs in the USA I learned that NITRO in Illinois may possibly propose this also. The only change I would like to leave out would be (Section U.2.d.) concerning the class gates, where WOTA does allow riders to pass through the gates of another class. I am not convinced yet, that the USMTA rules are an improvement in this case, and believe that it only adds extra plates and arrows within the section. The second topic I would like to propose, is to reduce the WOTA club dues to $5 or less and then to charge a flat fee for all riders, whether club members or not. Reason is to simplify signup for the workers. (section U.2.d.) as is. I may be wrong about the extra arrows needed. It would be better to stick with the whole USMTA standard, and NITRO is already using this. Jim, I know I'm pretty much 'out of it', but that never stops me from mouthing off on my opinion. I think this move is absolutely one of the best thing you could do for motorcycle trials in this country. And all it takes is a few districts to get it started. I strongly agree with your move here.. AA = Champ A = Expert B = Advanced C = Intermediate D = Novice Y = Youth These sound great to me and would render less confusion as to what class to ride out of state, assuming that the degree of dificulty is equal from state to state. Were these changes ever proposed to the AMA and passed as rules? |
