With Platteville rained out  I am wondering what people think about holding a regular  event  for series points  , We have 2 boxes of costly trophies that need to be used  although the plates say Platteville  now.  I can wait until the final week to set up   so plenty of time to talk it over .         Noel

I'd be fine with that, but was there any discussion about just rescheduling the Platteville event?  Would be a shame to let all that setup work go for naught.   :'(

I'm guessing Jesse would be fine with it, and I assume the insurance we already had could just be moved to the new date?  Then it's just a matter of finding a date that's compatible with both the D17 and D16 calendars.  Has two Sunday events after Baraboo, one Sept 23 in Gilberts, and another Oct 14 in Byron.  How about doing a Platteville event Saturday, Oct 13?

The paper plates would need to be redone, but the tape should still pretty much be up since Jesse says he's not putting the cows back down in there any more this year.

     I found out today that Belgium WTC is cancelled  so the 2 weekends before the TDN are now free for us  also   ,lets see who might want to pick a date   ,   someone check with Dolls on how sanctioning works  if transferable??  As far as the tape stoll being there  I wouldnt count on it  as that cheap junk barely is sutable the day it is put up ( I just want to vent  a bit  because at least 4 times at Dickeyville the sticky mud seemed to suck the tape into my wheel and  the strength of the budget flagging is nil)   read 4 -5s  for riding the route but getting on the boundary was costly.   

Your not supposed to ride on the boundary lines Noel.  ;D

Why not just reschedule for this upcoming Sunday? 

Spoke to Mark Doll earlier today.
He is ok with rescheduling a points event.
He mentioned the AMA & D16 require a month notice.

Oct 13 would be the latest for a points event, as Hare mentioned Byron is on the 14th.
Anything later, and then there is not enough time to get awards ordered for the D16 banquet.

Just a reminder that only the best 10 scores count for year end points and as it stands, we will have 11 events total.
I agree with Jim that we need more time to get awards ordered, and would not go past the Oct 13th date.
That leaves less than a month to get things set up with the district.
As for Smage Farm being for points, I disagree. I believe that the focus of that event should be the WOTA meeting to discuss any changes and schedule events. It's the only WOTA meeting for the year, and I don't think that it should be rushed due to a points paying event.

Are you sure this is a steadfast rule?  In D22 events get cancelled because of rain and are immediately rescheduled for the following weekend.  It happened this year with the Mt Pleasant hare scramble and the Dayton enduro.

It would make the most sense to run the trials immediately.  That way, hopefully the integrity of the sections, remains relatively intact.  It's a drag to have to tear down and completely reset the trials at a much later date.

I know most of this is a moot point for this year, because we have continued to get heavy rains all week.  It will be wetter there this Sunday, than it was for the original date.

No fixed time frame for rescheduling an event, but they want as much
notice as possible. I then asked, if we wanted to reschedule in a week,
would it be possible? The person I spoke to didn't like it, but said get the
info in ASAP.

But anyway, its not looking good for any replacement event.
It may be difficult to get the word out, where enough
would show, and our window is small.

I am taking steps to repeat the same scenario at Baraboo.
New gravel will be down next week.
(chains and heavy equipment at the event if needed)
Besides it is all downhill on the way out.

Rained out events have been common this year.  Again, I have seen plenty that have rescheduled for the following week.  Evidently the AMA doesn't like, but they do it.  All of these events have course markers set up and the sooner you run the event, the better chance of having not to reset everything.
